Hi all!

See below— We’re being invited to participate in an in-person workshop with SDOT in November to provide feedback on the Seattle Transportation Plan. If you’re interested, take a look at the times on offer here <https://strawpoll.com/polls/kogjvKA6Kg6> and let me know what works for you and what doesn’t (but don’t fill out the poll).

> Hello 350 Seattle, Seattle Subway, Transit Riders Union, TCC, and Commute Seattle,
>
> My name is Sarah Saviskas, and I'm part of the team at SDOT working on the Seattle Transportation Plan <https://www.seattle.gov/transportation/projects-and-programs/programs/seattle-transportation-plan>. We are in communication with Cascade Bicycle Club and Seattle Neighborhood Greenways about hosting a workshop in November with advocate groups, and your organizations came to mind as ones we'd love to have participate.
>
> A little background:
> The Seattle Transportation Plan (STP) is a vision for the future of transportation in Seattle. We completed Phase 1 of community engagement, during which we asked the community about their transportation needs and priorities. This helped us develop our collective vision, goals, and objectives for the future of Seattle’s transportation system. We launched Phase 2 on the STP Online Engagement Hub <https://seattletransportationplan.infocommunity.org/> in mid-September, which enables people to share their thoughts with us in 17 languages on:
> · STP vision, goals, and objectives
> · What future of transportation they want to see
> · What actions they like and how those can become part of our transportation system
>
> Concurrently, this summer and fall, we worked with our consultants and SDOT colleagues to lay the foundations for updating, modernizing, and integrating our network maps. We are building on the excellent work of our existing 4 modal plans and developing new “elements” based on resources like the New Mobility Playbook, Vision Zero Strategic Plan, Streets Illustrated, and more. We are trying to create a vision for how they all work together to achieve our goals around equity, climate, safety, mobility, livability, and stewardship. Ultimately, there will be 8 “elements” in the STP: pedestrian, bicycle, freight, transit, vehicle, people streets and public spaces, curb management, and new and emerging mobility. Starting in September, we have been having internal “Network Integration” conversations to test various concepts for resolving network conflicts and discussing key choices and tradeoffs. We will have preliminary draft maps to share with you at the workshop as a “sneak peek”, and we plan to post an online activity after the workshop for the broader public to weigh in on the draft maps – we’re shooting for a mid-December launch. Please note that the maps will continue to evolve in the months ahead based on feedback from City staff and the public.
>
> About the workshop:
> We are reaching out to see if you are interested in participating in a 2 hour, in-person workshop in Downtown Seattle to provide feedback on these preliminary draft maps. We would love your input on the analysis we have conducted to date. Your input will help inform the maps that go into the Draft Seattle Transportation Plan that will be released in 2023. We envision giving a short presentation and then having facilitated breakout stations to discuss the maps in more detail. We'll share an agenda with workshop participants in advance of our meeting date.
>
> The workshop will be the week of November 14 or November 28, and we will do our best to pick times that work for as many people as possible, taking into account staff and room availability. Each organization will be able to send approximately 5-6 people, and we can let you know the exact number once we know which organizations are able to attend. Anyone who is not able to attend the workshop or not comfortable participating in-person would be able to provide feedback on the draft maps on the Engagement Hub shortly after the workshops.
>
> By EOD Wednesday, please:
> 1. Let us know if your organization is interested in participating in the workshop.
> 2. If you are interested, please fill out this poll  <https://strawpoll.com/polls/kogjvKA6Kg6>to help us select the day and time. If possible, please have one person from your organization fill this out to represent the times that work for your group.
