Hey BATS,

We met on Monday night and discussed how to move forward on various initiatives.
* Saunatina is offering accountability check-ins. Book a 30ish or 60ish min meeting to discuss anything related to your BATS or TRU work. https://meet.boomerangapp.com/saunatina (https://meet.boomerangapp.com/saunatina) (If you want to have a regular weekly or monthly check-in, let me know! I tend to do my best work when I know I have a voice check-in with those I'm working with, so this is as much for me as you. :-))
* SeaTac airport bus route from the south. This is related to the suggested changes once light rail opens further south. When any transit service is cut it has a knock-on effect of making other parts of the network worse. If someone doesn't take transit to work cause there isn't a route for them, they're not likely to take transit home cause they probably drove - this means later service doesn't have as much demand, which produces arguments that service reduction is logical. BATS is planning to do in-person surveys to people riding the affected routes and let people know about our advocacy.
* Workforce training around vertical conveyances and transit mechanics. We're doing outreach to various unions, researching programs that exist, and continuing to meet with legislators.
* Route 8 is getting attention from SNG and we're going to help by putting together a survey and email to do outreach to people riding the 8 while they're riding to encourage them to write to councilmembers and others about their experience.
If you're interested in joining with any of these projects reply to this message and we'll get you hooked up!
Thanks,
S.
