Hi All,
I wanted to share this email from someone involved in the Uptown Alliance, which is on the same page with us about the SLU station placement. She includes some upcoming opportunities to weigh in and take action.

> Hello Katie and Doug,
>
> I would like to introduce myself. I have been working on Sound Transit issues as a volunteer for Uptown Alliance for many years and as you may imagine the consideration of eliminating the 6th and Harrison station is of grave concern for our neighborhood.
>
> Our Land Use review committee (UP-LURC), chaired by Maria Barrientos and Mercedes Fernandez, has set up a working Sound Transit subcommittee and we have held several community meetings that have been well attended. This new development has us back out working in our community once again trying to outreach and engage on these issues. Please see the newsletter <https://mailchi.mp/48aa5bc79124/uptown-alliance-july-2023-newsletter?e=58ca26b9bd> just out this week.
>
> We hope that your coalition of groups (many who we have worked with on other transportation projects such as the Arena, NoDoMAP and Thomas Street Redefined) will share our concern that the 6th/Harrison station must not be eliminated from the ST3 alignment. We urge you to show up with that message at the many July meetings being held:

>> We at Uptown Alliance were very pleased to read the article you wrote about Sound Transit newly proposed elimination of the SLU station at 6th and Harrison in their Denny/Westlake West alternative. It was also great to see so many partners UA has worked with on other transportation projects come together around the shared values of building the best transportation system we can and not sacrificing needed ridership to solve construction issues.

>> UA is committed to getting strong representation at the upcoming ST Expansion Committee (July 13th) and Board (July 27th ) meetings. Also, over the weekend we received information from Sound Transit about two (2) workshops planned for the Denny/Westlake West option and will begin outreach to those in our neighborhood. We would love to stay in contact with this group as the discussion progresses. The letter sent to Sound Transit didn’t have a return contact on it – can you please let me know who would be the best person to contact?
