Got you covered.

No Problem.

Never driven.

Visually Impaird.

Jim

Seriously, this Week Without Driving made a really big hit last year as people finally realized what it was REALLY like to go a week without a car.

Would like to participate and at least find out what TRU will be doing for this.

Thanks. Jim

Hi All,

Is anyone in this group interested in attending the “convening meeting” next Thursday, May 25th at 12pm, to learn more about the #WeekWithoutDriving and what TRU would have to do to cohost?

Katie

Hi Katie,

I want to make sure you've heard the news: this year, the Disability Mobility Initiative<https://www.disabilityrightswa.org/programs/disabilitymobility/wwd/>, America Walks<https://americawalks.org/campaigns/national-week-without-driving/>, Access Living<https://www.accessliving.org/>, and Front and Centered<https://frontandcentered.org/> have convened the National Coalition for a National Week Without Driving, October 2-8, 2023. Thank you for your support making the 2022 campaign such a success and laying the foundation for going national!

The National #WeekWithoutDriving<https://americawalks.org/campaigns/national-week-without-driving/>works largely as the Washington state campaign in the past — we want policy makers, elected leaders and transportation professionals to commit to a week without driving so they can begin to understand the barriers nondrivers experience in accessing our communities. We’re asking partner organizations to engage these leaders to commit to the week. And once again, tools and templates will be available to help your organization participate and engage your networks.

A few things have changed! First, host organizations will sign on with America Walks here<https://americawalks.org/campaigns/national-week-without-driving/>. After signing on, organizations will be invited to the (remote) kickoff meeting on May 25 and be asked to attend monthly organizing meetings (also remote). Host organizations will be asked to review and sign this pledge<https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScelBZ6g8CTAw-6W1ZfARaUKGxqg-6nKw7Uhst61x0nuW9JJA/viewform?usp=sf_link>, a set of guiding principles to inform the work of the campaign.

I would be thrilled to see all our 2022 partner organizations commit to the first National Week Without Driving. To do that:

*	Save the dates: October 2-8, 2023
*	Sign up with America Walks<https://americawalks.org/campaigns/national-week-without-driving/>
*	Save the date and look for your invitation to the convening meeting on Thursday, May 25th 12pm PST/2pm CST/3pm EST. If you can’t make this meeting, don’t worry, Ruth from America Walks will make sure to record the meeting and will have other options in the future for participation.
*	Review the pledge<https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScelBZ6g8CTAw-6W1ZfARaUKGxqg-6nKw7Uhst61x0nuW9JJA/viewform?usp=sf_link> prior to the convening meeting; your organization can sign the pledge prior to May 25, but the meeting will offer a chance to discuss the pledge.

I hope you'll join us again to keep building the momentum for mobility justice.

Anna
