Hi BATs,
I wanted to bring this up before our meeting later in the month to get a
jump on it. (FYI - I'm going to be away for the first half of March,
returning on March 13)
What would we like to do for Transit Operator Appreciation Day? It's on
March 18th (a Monday) and I believe the week leading up to it is
Appreciation Week.
Here are some thoughts to start, but would love to hear your ideas!
--in 2022 TRU arranged to invite some drivers and mechanics to meet outside
near the central base and there was free coffee and donuts and a big hand
made card with TRU members' individual messages written on the card.
-- maybe we could do the same or something similar to that but host at a
coffee shop/pizza place nearby in Sodo or Georgetown? Provide some free
pizza for transit operators?
-- or printing Thankyou cards from TRU (and maybe even joint effort with
Seattle Greenways?) and seeing if we can get members from TRU and Greenways
to give the cards to bus drivers during the week before and the day of.
Let me know your thoughts on any of these ideas or others you might have.
It would be great to have something figured by next week (2/14) to begin
planning.
Thanks,
Jo
