Oh.
Hi Katie,
Nov. 14th at 2 PM works fine for me.
I just came across this E-Mail again and it's good to be thinking about New - Old - Transit routing.
With all the Election Mayhem going on I was kind of set back from E-Mails but now it's time to start working on the Transit and Rail.
Hope this gets to you soon and hope to see you and others Nov. 14th at 2 PM.
Is this a Zoom or a Live meeting?
Thanks. Jim

Oops, I legit thought I had replied to this and guess I hadn’t. I blame my cold. Anyway, I could come on the 14th or 25th; the 18th I am blocked unless we end right at 2:30. :)

Yah. Bring back the Streetcar!!!
Well, in this day and age I guess it's gone. Very gone. I don't even know if the cars are here in Seattle any more.
THEY SHOULD HAVE NEVER TAKEN IT OUT. INSTEAD - EXPANDED IT!!!!
In 2018-2019 a few of us got to talking about a Loop - Downtown Circulator bus running between Downtown, the Waterfront and Seattle Center. Then, as we all know the COVID came along.
Now, with the trying to get people Downtown again I think such a Loop Bus running very frequently would be a good idea.
Please count me in on a meeting.
Thanks. Jim

Tai got back to me and is interested in a meeting with Metro. I can try to set that up— who in this group would be interested in joining?

Oh, cool. Well it seems like either we could start by trying to set up a meeting with Metro staff, or by writing a letter. I can email Tai Nguyen, would anyone like to be put in touch with them, or should I just ask if they’d be interested in having us help facilitate a meeting with Metro?

Metro already seems primed to do this, potentially some public advocacy would help make the case?

Anyone have thoughts about pushing to restore the Route 99? Maybe another case where we could at least facilitate a meeting with Metro staff?

I asked Matthew J. Sutherland at Transportation Choices Coalition about how I can go about asking for a bus route to be restored to 1st Ave, and he gave me the advice below. I will contact the orgs/people he suggested, but I lack the data to back up the request. Hoping someone in Downtown Greenways can help me collect the data.

First, I’d suggest that you are prepared to articulate the need that you are hoping restoring route 99 serves. If you have data to support that, even better!
It looks like this is a King County Metro issue; I would suggest meeting with the staff there and asking to learn more about their decision-making process, future realignment plans, etc., see if your need is met in some other way already or if they can offer alternative ideas.
You can also reach out to organizations that do similar advocacy. The Late 8 campaign is a good example.
Finally, you can reach out to your County Councilmember if you aren’t getting very far. They are in charge of KCM and would be able to get questions answered by staff.
