Action Items Discussed:
- We're not meeting in December, next meeting is January 27th. A new invitation and video chat link will be sent in a separate email - keep an eye out!
- Some other committees had annual wishlists -- would be cool to see! Please send to transit at transitriders.org if you have old exampels.
- Saunatina is putting together an archive/toolbook of resources for prior route / bus stop work we have done. If you have any emails or plans related to projects BATS or TRU in general has engaged in related to specific bus or train routes, please send them to saunatina at proton,me
- Sound Transit Chinatown-International District station placement conversation. New successor to 5th Avenue alternative - 5th Shallow Diagonal. May be first step to larger TRU project to keep Ballard Link project on track.
- Fix the L8. SDOT has a meeting on December 9th at 2pm to share study results.
- Metro is still committed to the idea of the 1st Ave Streetcar, but would be interested in bus service as a precursor to streetcar service.
- RapidRide G. Steep bus stops near 3rd avenue are difficult for wheelchair users. Disability Rights Washington might be interested in following up on this. David is going to reach out to Krystina and Cecilia to get some thoughts.
- Additional walking for some folks to a bus stop can be a deal breaker. Should we have a general policy relating to walking distances for transit service?
- Route 40. Should we put a sign at the bus stop telling folks to complain to Rob Saka if they dislike the location?
If you're interested in getting involved in any of these projects, please reply to this message to let other committee members know who is available to collaborate with. We spent some time collecting ideas for our advocacy focus for 2025, it would be great to hear yours!
Thanks for being with the BATS!
