Hi All,
I attended a meeting today with allies about the Seattle transportation levy, discussing this advocates’ vision document <https://docs.google.com/document/d/1_FkSXhWprQ7XRbqXewO5JiB5ZntjZCOGtPo3_mcWq00/edit#heading=h.drxknzxuw0pg> and also what it would look like to run a “no” campaign if the City’s proposal is really bad. There’s going to be a meeting next Monday 1/29 at 3pm to dig into the transit sections, which still need some work. Do any of you want to join that meeting? Let me know and I can add you to the invitation!
Also I wanted to make sure everyone in this group saw that we’re promoting two transit-related email actions, one to tell Sound Transit <https://actionnetwork.org/letters/the-weakest-link/> they need to do better for riders during the service disruption, and the other to prevent the Route 40 corridor project from being further delayed <https://actionnetwork.org/letters/fight-for-the-40/> or watered down. Please send those emails and share widely!

The Transit Riders Union is a democratic organization of working and poor people, including students, seniors, and people with disabilities, taking control over our own lives, and building up the power we need to change society for the good of humanity and of the planet. We will fight to preserve, expand, and improve the public transportation system in Seattle and beyond, so that every human being has access to safe, affordable, and reliable public transit.
